the words
Rose Pearce is a writer, poet, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, birth doula, and former intensive care nurse whose work has been profoundly shaped by experiences of birth, loss, healing, and spiritual exploration.
Following the stillbirths of her children, Noah and Ambrance, Rose turned to writing as a way to navigate grief, honour enduring bonds of love, and explore the unseen threads that connect us through life’s most meaningful transitions. What began as personal reflection gradually evolved into a collection of poems and stories offering comfort, hope, and deeper understanding.
Drawing from her experiences as a mother, healthcare professional, humanitarian volunteer, and healing practitioner, Rose writes about the places where grief and beauty meet. Her work explores birth and death, nature and spirit, resilience and renewal, and the ways love continues to shape us across generations.
Rose lives with her family in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near Bragg Creek, Alberta, where she continues to write, garden, hike, and support families through her healing practice.

Accompanied by the luminous artwork of Linda Mummery, When Time Stands Still explores the sacred threads that weave through birth and death, sorrow and joy, earth and spirit. Gentle, reflective, and heartfelt, it is an invitation to pause, listen deeply, and remember that even in our darkest seasons, love remains present.

When Rose invited me to create paintings for When Time Stands Still, I felt called to explore imagery that could stretch beyond physical reality and speak to the emotional and spiritual depth of her poetry.
Listening to Rose’s poems, I allowed images to rise in my inner vision and translated them through colour, form, and paint. This process became a rich exchange of vulnerability, trust, and creative growth, and I feel deeply fulfilled to be part of bringing this book to life.
